Ethan-Winning > Belted Kindfisher I admit that this is one of my favorites because of the difficulty in getting a shot, trying for three months to be in the right place if they ever showed up, and the "haircut." Maybe there should be a scoring system as in diving. The Belted kingfisher is a 5/9.6. Five for quality, 9.6 for degree of difficulty. Multiplied by the time waiting on a muddy sloped bank gives the picture a total score of 98.4.
Ethan-Winning > Mendocino, CA One of the first digital pictures I took. January 26, 2001. Almost all photos of Yosemite and the coast in this gallery were taken with an Olympus 3.3 MP Camedia. Although I love my Canon S3 IS, you've got to hand it to the folk at Olympus. That said, I don't understand why this isn't among the most popular photos in this or any gallery. I even got a couple of gulls to pose.
