I do not like zoos except where there is a conservation effort as well, e.g., San Diego. But there is something about captivity for dolphins, giraffes, elephants, etc, that just seems sad. Almost all zoo pictures here are over 45 years old. and the the only non-digital pix presented. Then there are others that are new and "secondary," but of interest like the very first one: how can a bird that weighs 11 ounces swallow a fish that weighs as much as she does?
