Red-tailed Hawk - Juvenile (See Sibley)
Everybody seems to have a picture of a red-tailed hawk, but I've been waiting more than a year for one to perch close enough to get this kind of shot. This red-tailed hawk was sitting on a pole which stretches out over part of the pond at the Marina. I had 15 minutes to shoot as many pictures as I could, though half the time, there were really dark clouds overhead. It's all an adventure: one of those clouds turned out to be a funnel cloud. THAT I didn't take a picture of. I was too busy running for cover.
