Tule Damselflies Mating
Like the grunion run, I swear that damsels only mate on the first Thursday of September when the temperature is over 100. Hundreds and hundreds were mating, and the next day, not even one. Odd that Wilipedia doesn't have a mating pair in their discussion. Would love to donate this shot to Wiki, but again, can't figure out how. Most oftem, these are called "common blue damselflies," but there's nothing common about them. Here we've got a green female, and although the bars are the same, this is a rare sighting.
