Ethan Winning > 2011 in Yosemite was exceptional. Even more rain fell than in 2005, and the waterfalls were spectacular! It was also crystal clear and vibrant throughout the valley. The only problem was that we couldn't get to higher elevations. For those of your who have never been to Yosemite, see the year-round view of the park in the National Parks and Day Tripping Gallery.

Merced River in center; Bridal Veil Falls in background. Snow still on the mountains, all passes closed. View at X3. More vibrant than in reality, but I wanted to show the Merced River (center). Only a few degrees from natural. You have to be at Yosemite to believe the colors and clarity.

At 2,425 feet (739 m), this is the 6th highest falls in the world, and the highest in North America.
Ethan Winning > Bridal Veil Falls - Spring 2011

Got absolutely soaked getting this picture, and I haven't figured out whether it was worth it. It's only 647 feet, but the amount of water is phenomenal. It's probably why it's the centerpiece of many of the photos of Yosemite's valley floor.

I've been waiting 6 years for another opportunity. We've been to Yosemite when no water has been flowing, Bridal Veil was a spritz, and Upper Yosemite Falls looked like Horsetail if that..
