Now, pay attention. When the killdeer is near water, I consider it "waterfowl." When it's on a grassy field, it isn't. I suppose I should use the same criteria for gulls, but does anybody really care? Yes, I know that this one is near the water, but I need a "rep" for this gallery. More on grassy field later.

Can't wait to see them in breeding plumage, but I guess I was lucky enough to get these which seem to be a rarity in inland bays of this area.
